Glasgow Night Shelter depends entirely on donations from our supporters in order to survive.
The men staying at the night shelter are, by law, not allowed ‘any recourse to public funds’. As a result the night shelter cannot receive any funding from any government sources, nor from the Scottish Parliament, nor the local council.
Currently our running costs come to about £130,000 a year which includes the wages of part-time staff. With the help of our supporters and other local charities, every month, we provide over 500 hot, nourishing evening meals, pay for rent and utilities, provide food for breakfast and to take away for lunch for up to 22 men staying at the shelter every night.
Since we began we estimate that we have provided over 5,475 bed spaces each year for homeless asylum seekers who otherwise would be forced to sleep rough on the streets of Glasgow.
Help us continue to do this crucial life-saving work, by making a financial donation to the night shelter
[Please note: We are guaranteed to receive 100% of your donation through wonderful.org, as they do not charge any fees for using their fundraising site unlike other fundraising sites who take a proportion of all donations.]
Alternatively donations can be made by transferring money to the Glasgow Night Shelter for Destitute Asylum Seekers account at any Lloyds TSB branch, account number: 75281960, sort code: 87-37-17 – or by sending a cheque made out to “Glasgow Night Shelter for Destitute Asylum Seekers” to:
